Major
responsibilities:
1) Conducts an annual membership campaign.
2) Coordinates campaign with chapter publicity chairperson and newsletter
editor.
3) Coordinates with treasurer to prepare and submit annual budget for
membership campaign expenses.
4) Contacts public accounting firms, banks, government agencies, universities,
private industry and media to introduce association to potential members.
5) Obtains names and addresses of meeting visitors.
6) Contacts meeting visitors and encourages membership in ISACA.
7) Forwards membership applications and informational materials to visitors.
8) Contacts non-renewing members to determine reasons for discontinuing
membership.
9) Attempts to persuade individuals to renew membership.
10) Reports concerns to international headquarters’ membership
department.
11) Maintains an adequate supply of current ISACA membership application
forms, brochures and other related material necessary to solicit new
members.
12) Advises chapter membership of all new members in chapter newsletter.
13) Maintains membership records.
14) Works with secretary to enroll new members by forwarding applications
and dues to the international headquarters.
15) Ensures membership records are accurate.
16) Compares records with previous periods to determine the percent
increase/decrease in membership and meeting attendance.
17) Responds to correspondence regarding membership.
18) Supports joint meetings with local chapters of other professional
organizations.
19) Maintains a complete and orderly file of profiles of chapter officers,
past and current.
20) Works with education and program committees on annual survey to
identify membership needs and to improve attendance.
21) Contacts members periodically to learn if ISACA and chapter are
meeting their needs.
22) Prepares special invitations for meetings of importance.
23) Develops and implements a chapter membership award program for the
chapter year.
24) Presents the awards program to the chapter board for approval and
to the general membership when appropriate.
25) Develops and implements a special recognition program for members
who have excellent meeting attendance and recognizes those members at
the annual meeting or at other events.
26) Increases chapter awareness and appreciation of awards by publicizing
the program in newsletter on regular basis (i.e., quarterly).
27) Coordinates other chapter awards (i.e., local scholarship funds).
28) Selects items to be given as awards.
29) Reviews the qualifications of each chapter member and determines
if any candidates meet the standards established by the awards program.
30) Presents nominees’ names to board for approval.
31) Orders awards.
32) Presents awards during annual meeting or other chapter event.
33) Maintains records of all annual and special awards presented by
the chapter.
34) Coordinates with the treasurer to develop a budget for awards.
35) Maintains log of awards received by chapter from International and
publicizes receipt of awards to chapter membership.
Reporting
responsibilities:
The membership director and/or committee reports to the chapter secretary
and works closely with all chapter officers (particularly the president,
treasurer, education and programs chairs).
